About Me

As a PMHNP, I diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions throughout the lifespan. However, I have special interest and training in working with children and adolescents. In collaboration with families, I work with children dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD and autism, as well as those struggling with acute stressors. We will work together to determine what combination of therapy and/or medication is right for you or your child.

I am trained to provide both psychotherapy and medication management for my clients, but I also enjoy opportunities for collaboration when a child is already working with a counselor and is in need of a medication evaluation, and possible medication management. I use a combination of CBT and Interpersonal Therapy to support children and families, drawing from psychopharmacology to help supplement therapy for those kids requiring additional support in their treatment.

Throughout my professional career I have taken pride at being skilled at building a therapeutic alliance with clients from all types of backgrounds. It is through this alliance that we will work to develop achievable, measurable and time-based goals in order to measure progress as we work together. This work will include helping you to strengthen existing skills as well as learn new ones.

I have over twenty years of experience in nursing, with most of those years specializing in working with children, teenagers and their families, in a variety of settings but primarily mental health. I graduated with my Masters from OHSU in 2019 and am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

In my free time I enjoy doing all sorts of things in the outdoors—hiking and swimming in the warmer months, skiing in the colder ones and navigating Portland by bike year-round. When I am at home with my family and our pets, I like to spend time in the kitchen, read books and work at someday being more than a beginning guitar player.  I look forward to getting to learn about you and helping you to achieve your wellness goals.
